Are Kat Dennings And Beth Behrs The New Tina Fey And Amy Poehler?

Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, the stars of the CBS sitcom “Two Broke Girls,” are looking more and more like they might become the next great awards-show duo, following in the footsteps of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Dennings and Behrs will host this year’s People’s Choice Awards, but can they reach the bar that Fey and Poehler have set with the Golden Globes? It looks like Behrs is taking Fey and Poehler as inspiration. “I saw a promo for Amy [Poehler] and Tina [Fey] where they were singing at a piano,” she told People Magazine. “I just think they’re so genius. We could learn a lot from them. They’re so funny.”

The “Two Broke Girls” co-stars have got some big shoes to fill if they’re going to become the next Tina and Amy, but they’re on the right track. Check out how they’re starting to look a lot our favorite awards emcees.

Tina and Amy made their mark acting together …

… and so have Dennings and Behrs.

The 50 Best Super Bowl Commercials Ever (VIDEOS)

The most memorable moments on Super Bowl Sunday don’t always take place on the gridiron and the most complex plays aren’t always scripted by the coaches on the sidelines. That iconic Apple commercial directed by Ridley Scott remains the most talked about aspect the Los Angeles Raiders’ 38-9 win over the Washington Redskins in Tampa (edging that 74-yard touchdown run by Marcus Allen).

Hopefully Microsoft’s Likely Next CEO Is Better At CEO-ing Than He Is At Twitter

On Thursday, reports from Bloomberg News indicated Microsoft would be naming Satya Nadella, an executive vice president at Microsoft, as the company’s new CEO to replace the retiring Steve Ballmer.

While the final details are still being shaken out, one thing is for sure: This Twitter account, which appears to belong to Nadella, is a time capsule. The follower count jumped by over 2,000 followers after Thursday’s news, and it’s now up over 3,700 as of Friday afternoon.

Complete with egg avatar, no bio, broken links and a last update 1,299 days ago, the page looks more like your grandma’s Twitter than one for the potential new CEO of one of the world’s biggest tech companies. Most of the tweets take place around the time Nadella was negotiating Twitter’s first search deal with Microsoft.

Microsoft said it had no comment on the Twitter account.

Let’s have a look at some of the best tweets:

NBC Orders ‘Mr. Robinson’ Starring Craig Robinson From ‘The Office’

Craig Robinson, known on “The Office” as Darryl Philbin, has received his own series order from NBC.

The comedic actor was seen this year in the film “This Is The End” and as a guest star on Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” Now, a year after NBC ordered the pilot, Deadline reports that Robinson’s single-camera comedy, “Mr. Robinson,” has finally received a six-episode order.

The series stars Robinson as a musician who “gets a job as a music teacher at a middle school. While teaching the kids everything from rock to the blues, he simultaneously learns how to put the school’s rules to the test,” according to Deadline.

On Losing My Starbucks Gold Card

The news was delivered over email. Not face to face, or even by phone. Over email. They may as well have texted.

Starbucks demoted my Gold Card to a Green Badge.

I’d been a Gold Card Member for nearly five years. It saw me through my Master’s thesis, the writing of three manuscripts, and the release of my first book. It was in my wallet when my fiancé (now husband) proposed, and when we asked our limo driver to stop for a venti Pike coffee on the way from the church to the wedding reception hall. (My guests wouldn’t have been surprised if I gripped the Starbucks cardboard cup as I walked down the aisle, rather than a peony bouquet.)

We grind Starbucks beans for home brewing. I suggest Starbucks runs when we’re away, and my web browser suggests Starbucks.com when I type “St”. (Sorry, Stubhub.)

But five years of commitment and devotion means about as much to Starbucks as it does to Timbaland’s wife.

They lowered me to the Green level two months ago, and took the stars I’d earned toward a free beverage or food item with them (I should have signed a prenup). I don’t know how many stars I had; I didn’t get to say goodbye. I submitted a customer service email in which I demanded the return of my stars, but it has so far been unanswered — the silent thieves.

The one thing they didn’t take from my trembling over-caffeinated hands is my physical gold card which, like a nouveau-broke who still wears family furs, I’ve used to disguise this recent demerit in social status. It still swipes. It still sparkles beside my driver’s license. But that just goes to show you: all that glitters is not gold.

Being degraded to the green level means, not only can’t I earn free …read more

Sasheer Zamata Joins ‘SNL’ Cast Amid Controversy Over Black Women

“Saturday Night Live” will add Sasheer Zamata to its cast this month, according to a spokesperson for the show. Deadline first broke the news that Zamata will join the cast after months of press surrounding the lack of black women on the NBC sketch program.

Zamata comes to “SNL” from the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, the comedy collective co-founded by “SNL” alum Amy Poehler that has served as a training ground for many young comedy stars.

“SNL” currently has no black women in the cast, a fact that received criticism from the press as well as within its own cast. After Kenan Thompson vowed to no longer portray black women in drag, many questioned whether the show would indeed add a black woman in order to portray celebrities such as Beyonce and First Lady Michelle Obama. (Only four black women have been in the “SNL” cast after nearly 40 years.)

In a break with the tight-lipped secrecy typical for “SNL” casting decisions, word broke that the show’s producers were indeed auditioning black women for a mid-season addition. They also addressed the situation in the opening of an episode hosted by Kerry Washington this year, in which Washington was expected to portray several black female celebrities since nobody in the cast could do so.

Like many of the new cast members, Zamata has been tirelessly writing and acting in live and online comedy that has been written up in a variety of sources. Her work has attracted the attention of celebrities such as Lena Dunham, who tweeted one of her sketches last month.
